Abstract

ABSTRACT
Cannibalism spans diverse survival, ritual and pathological contexts, presenting legal, psychological and cultural challenges. While sensationalist media narratives often distort investigations and re-traumatize victims, systemic administrative failures frequently remain unexamined. The study examines how India’s Right to Information Act, 2005 serves as a vital investigative and accountability mechanism. Used responsibility, RTI counters media hysteria, addresses legal lacunas and fosters institutional transparency without compromising victim dignity.
